 Zonell Heath Cook, 94, passed from this life on January 23, 2025, in San Angelo.

She was born July 26, 1930, in Hamlin, Texas to Olen Clarence and Evelyn Lorene Heath. Zonell had three passions in her life time. Being a Southern Baptist and having a personal relationship with her Savior Jesus Christ, living for Beta Sigma Phi sorority, being a lifelong member, and watching Fox News religiously.

After graduating high school in Seagraves, Texas, Zonell married Ray Dean Cook in December 17, 1948 in Seagraves. Zonell started her working career in Seagraves at the age of 14 at Wackers after school and on Saturdays. She worked at the movie theater selling tickets on Saturdays and Sundays, and also worked at Seagraves Drug Store.

After high school and marriage, she moved to Aberdeen, Maryland with her husband from 1955 to 1958 while he was in the Army during that time. They moved back to Seagraves then to Denver City in 1959. Zonell worked for Scarbrough Pharmacy before Cornell Oil Company until retiring.

Upon retiring she moved to Eastland in 1986 and to Brownwood in 2004. Zonell moved to McCamey in 2020 to be with family. In 2023 she entered the McCamey Hospital Convalescent center for the last year.

Zonell was preceded in death by her husband Ray; infant daughter Catherine; her parents Olen and Lorene Heath, brother Dempsey Gene Heath, sister Barbara Ann Reed.

She is survived by a daughter Jeanne Stevens; granddaughter Joylene Tompkins (Kelly); and grandson Aaron.

A very special thank you to the McCamey Convalescent Center and the Nurses, therapists, doctors, and all the staff for the care she was given. Also, a very special thank you to Shannon Hospital and all the nurses, doctors, and the staff. All of you are truly Angels and Very Much appreciated.
