William âBudâ Sutherland, 70, of Crane, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 22, 2018.
Bud was born on July 17, 1947, in Mangum, Oklahoma to Luther and Billie Jean Sutherland. He was an Army Veteran, having served his country in Vietnam. He had lived in Crane since 1972. Bud worked in the oilfield for many years. He retired as a field supervisor for National Oilwell after 12 years of service.
Bud loved to hunt, fish, and ride his motorcycle. He also enjoyed camping and going to the lake.
Bud was preceded in death by his father, Luther Haskell Sutherland; his mother, Billie Jean Michael Carpenter; sister, Marzelle Matthews; and a brother, Harvey Don Sutherland.
Bud is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Sutherland of Crane; two sons, Will Sutherland and his wife Joyce, and Billy Don Sutherland and his wife Lisa, all of Crane; his daughter, Suzanne Sutherland and her husband Greg Chambers of Greenwood; three brothers, Joe Carpenter and his wife Renee of Eola, Wayne Carpenter and his wife Wanda of Duke, Oklahoma, and Dennis Lee Asper and his wife Jeri of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a sister, Sylvia Roberts and her husband Dave of Mangum, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 26, 2018, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in Crane with Reverend Jimmy Carrasco officiating.
