Virginia Clayton, 89, of Odessa, and formerly of Crane, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Parks Methodist Retirement Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in Crane with Reverend Tommy Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery.
Virginia was born on April 28, 1923 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Britton and Oma Foster Carter. She married Elbert "E.C." Clayton on December 3, 1940 in Oklahoma. Virginia was a homemaker, and a longtime resident of Crane. She was a member of the Epslon Alpha Sorority and had served as president. Virginia had also helped in 4-H as a volunteer. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Crane for several years. Anyone who knew Virginia knew her love for the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband E.C. Clayton; daughter, Karen Price; son-in-law, Jess Price; brother, Orville Carter; and sisters, Dorothy Williams, Othelene Ellard, and Doris Robnett.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Susan Sanders and her husband Ray of Odessa; two sisters, Marg Brazell of Idaho, and Lois Adamo of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Barry Price and his wife Susan of Midland, Anissa Malone and her husband Mike of Odessa, Kara Harkins and husband Brantley of Odessa; great-grandchildren, Kailee and Brayson Harkins, Eric Malone, Teresa and Chad Ellison, Brandy and Perry Lopez, Stacey Gray; great-great grandchildren, Tyler and Ashtyn Ellison, Porsche and Justin Lopez. "Special Grandchildren", Brittany, Hunter, and Wyatt Smith, and Bryce Gardner; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
