Tommy Ray Latham

Tommy Ray Latham, 83, of Rankin, Texas left us to go to his heavenly Father at 12:28 a.m. on April 1, 2023.

Tommy was born on December 29, 1939 to Jay and Alene Latham in Denison, Texas.  After graduating from Bronte High School in 1958, he went to work in the oil and gas industry and retired from Union Texas Petroleum-Benedum Plant in 1994.

On June 28, 1958 he married Joyce Faulk in Bronte, Texas.  Tommy and Joyce moved to Rankin, Texas in 1963 where they raised their three boys.  Tommy was a member of the Church of Christ.

Tommy loved life.  He loved his family, as well as fishing, hunting, and golf.  One of his biggest joys was watching his sons and grandchildren in the many events in which they participated.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Hervey Latham and wife Betty, and his infant sister Noretta Latham.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joyce Latham of Rankin, his sons David and wife Kerri of Greenwood, Gary and wife Christen of La Jolla, Denny and wife Debbie of Midland.  He is also survived by grandchildren Colby Latham and wife Kim, Jordan Fulbright and husband Kendrick, Quinn Latham, Blain Latham and wife Taylor, and Braden Latham.  Great-grandchildren Mila and Layla Fulbright and Hayes Latham.

The family will receive friends during the visitation at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023, at the Rankin Cemetery Pavilion.  Services will follow at 2:00 p.m.  Arrangements are under the care of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
