Thelma Maxine Cofield went to be with the Lord on Tuesday January 17th, 2012 after a long battle with pneumonia.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 20, 2012 at Faith Assembly of God Church in Rankin. Burial will follow in the Rankin Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertie Lake, 10 siblings and one grandson.
She is survived by her 4 children: her daughter and son-in-law Becky and Billy Robison of Rankin, her son and daughter-in-law Troy Jr. and Debbie McGuire of Katy, her son Craig McGuire of Rankin, and her daughter and son-in-law Shanda and Wesley Stephens of Rankin, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Maxine was born in Fort Worth and grew up in Lubbock where she married and raised her 4 children. She worked in the hospital food industry as a dietician at West Texas Hospital of Lubbock. Maxine moved to Rankin in 1980 and worked at the Rankin County Hospital until retirement.
She devoted her life to caring for her handicapped son, Craig, and was very proud of keeping him healthy and happy at home.
She was a gentle soul and was loved by all who knew her. She loved the Lord and although heaven will be a much sweeter place with her in it, she will be deeply missed by family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations be made to the Ronald Craig McGuire fund at the First State Bank of Rankin.
