Faye Pool, 89, born Rosetta Faye Lawson, on November 14, 1934 in Bellevue, Texas to Henry and Lois Lawson, went to be with her Heavenly Savior and loved ones on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
Faye met the love of her life, Price Pool at McCamey High School, where at first sight he said, “I’m going to marry that girl”. They were married November 14, 1952 on her 18th birthday. She graduated from McCamey High School in 1953.
She is best remembered in the community for her loving smile and caring personality. She worked many different jobs from floral to clerk at Day and Night Grocery until its closing upon Mr. Wolfrum’s retirement.
She was a long-standing member of the Eastside Baptist Church in McCamey.
Faye has been a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years as well as various organizations and clubs in and around the community. She was honored and awarded the Pioneer Woman of the Year in 2017.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lois Lawson; husband of 49 years, Price Pool; brother Henry Lee Lawson; sons Howard Pool and Timmy Pool; grandson, Jordan Kneupper; and son-in-law, Jayme Lock.
She is survived by four children, Teresa McGrew and husband Billy of Monahans, Sterlene Lock of Abilene, Phil Pool and wife Wendy of San Angelo, and Shari Grisham and husband Jack of McCamey; her brother Calvin Lawson and wife Frankie of Odessa; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home in McCamey on Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, April 1, 2024, at the Eastside Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Resthaven Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Cantwell, James Mullins, Warren Kneupper, Luke Arana, Joe Garcia, and Wayne Jolly. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Avery, Ray Smith, Bill Robbins, and Jimmy Westfall.
