Robert Leonard Peek

June 8, 1942 — December 9, 2011

Robert Leonard Peek died Friday December 9, 2011, at the home of his son in Fort Worth, TX after the cancer won the battle. He was in the care of his daughter-in-law, Brandy, for the past two years and in the care of Hospice for the last two weeks. We are extremely grateful for the care and ministry both have provided for Robert. They made a huge impact on his life.

Funeral Services were held at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home in Crane on Wednesday December 14, 2011 at 1 p.m.

Robert was born June 8, 1942 in Coleman, of Coleman County, Texas, Robert was the second son born to Alice Lucy O'Dell and Horace Hutmann Peek. He attended school in Crane TX and enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17. His service to our country included a tour in Korea.

Robert was preceded in death by son Robert "Robbie" Leonard, Jr.; Grandparents MeMaw, George and Allie O'Dell; parents Alice Lucy and Horace Hutmann Peek; and sister, Mary Jeanette Polson; nephew Timmy Bagby.

He is survived by his daughter Tracye Young; Grand-daughter Heather Grissom and husband Patrick and Great Grand-daughter Addison; Grand-daughter Stassi Cross and husband Jeremy, Great Grand-son Ty and Great Grand-daughter Taylee; Son Sean Peek with wife Brandy and Grand-daughter Julia; siblings: Horace Peek with wife Wanda; Charles Peek; Dorothy Bagby with husband Danny; Judy Allen with husband Art; Barbara McSpadden with husband Boogie and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Robert was an employee of Eddins Walcher Co at several locations including Denver City, Rankin and Sonora TX branch locations. As a truck driver by profession Robert saw many
interesting places and met many more interesting people. This left him with a vast array of stories to tell of his year over the road. Becoming an owner operator of his own truck was a life accomplishment Robert took very seriously. Being home at his property in Brady, TX was the second most pleasing time for him.
