Raymundo J. Gonzalez

Raymundo J. Gonzalez, 65, was surrounded by family and friends as he peacefully entered into eternal paradise on June 7, 2024. He was born on November 2, 1958, to Raymundo and Catalina Gonzalez in McCamey, Texas. On March 17, 2012, he married Maria Elena Gonzalez, who stood by his side in every aspect of his life.

Raymundo was a dedicated entrepreneur in the oil field and restaurant industry. His love and service to the Lord were evident in every facet of his life, and he never missed an opportunity to share the goodness of God with those around him. He led with faith and a generous heart, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.

A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, Raymundo’s prayers often included a wish for a Super Bowl win for his beloved team. Known for his impeccable style, he was always dressed to the nines and never missed a chance to snap a photo or admire his reflection.

Raymundo is survived by his loving wife, Maria Elena Gonzalez; his children, Abby (Andrius) Sakalys, Raymundo (Danina) Gonzalez, Hilda (Robert) Bustillos, Daniel (Shawna) Gonzalez, Elizabeth (Ramiro) Urías, Neyma (Noel), and Maricela (Fabián); as well as 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Maria Elena (Frank) Medina, Amelia Perez, and Maricella Gonzalez, and his brother Pedro (Petra) Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymundo and Catalina Gonzalez, and his brothers, Raul and Jesus Gonzalez.

Visitation and viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in McCamey, TX, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.  at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey.

Raymundo will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of faith, love, and perseverance will live on in our hearts forever.
