ODESSA: Ray Wilkins of Odessa, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Hospice House in Odessa.
Ray was born on June 15, 1926 in Breckenridge, TX to his parents Hune & Julia Lee Wilkins. He later moved to Pecos, TX.
Ray served in the U.S. Navy during WWII & was discharged March 27, 1946.
He married Billie Williams in Odessa on May 22, 1948. Ray lived all his adult life in Odessa. He retired from ECISD maintenance as a plumber.
Ray was preceded in death by his son, Bill Wilkins, his wife & his parents.
He is survived by his daughter Bonnie Blount & husband Eldon; son Tommy & wife Janeen; sister Nita Zellars & husband Guy all of Odessa. Five grandchildren: Steven & Amy Bracken, James & Tracie Bracken, David Blount, Emily & Kerry King & Wendy Wilkins. Eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
We will be celebrating the life of Ray Wilkins on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Northside Baptist Church in Odessa with Clydell Chapman officiating.
In lieu of flowers families ask that donations be made to Hospice House Foundation Inc. 903 N. Sam Houston, Odessa, TX 79761.
