Ramon "Piña" Venegas, 69, of McCamey, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2012 at his home in McCamey.
Rosary will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in McCamey. Funeral Mass will be held at 2pm on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McCamey. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Ramon was born on January 9, 1943 in Mexico. He was retired from the oilfield, and had lived in McCamey for 42 years. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon G. and Dionicia Urias Venegas; two brothers, Willfredo Venegas and Oscar Venegas; and two sisters, Socoro Venegas and Viviana Venegas.
He is survived by his wife, Adela Venegas of McCamey; three sons, Ramon Venegas III, and Ray Venegas, both of McCamey, and Willfredo "Willie" Venegas of Crane; two daughters, Vivian Venegas of Fort Stockton, and Veronica V. Hernandez of McCamey; two brothers, Hector Venegas of McCamey and Primitivo Venegas of Mexico; a sister, Dolores Martinez of San Angelo; and seven grandchildren, Marina, Socorro, McKayla, Alexandrya, Hayden, Noe, and Sarahi.
