Pilar G. Carrasco, 86, of McCamey, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Rosary will be said at 7pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Mrs. Carrascoâs residence in McCamey. Funeral Mass will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Laurent Mvondo officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery with arrangements under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of McCamey. Pallbearers will be Bernaldo Carrasco, Justin Carrasco, Joshua Carrasco, Edward Lee Carrasco, Adrian Carrasco, Rene Renteria, Gerard Renteria, Adriel Renteria, Isaac Aguilar, Luis Valenzuela, III, Diego Valenzuela, and Marco Carrasco.
Pilar was born on October 12, 1927, in Indio, Texas. She was a homemaker and had lived in McCamey since 1958. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Pilar enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Baltazar Carrasco; and a son, Servando Carrasco; and a daughter, Irene Carrasco.
Survivors include seven children-Manuel Carrasco and his wife Rosario of McCamey, Joe Carrasco and his wife SanJuanita of Crane, Edward Carrasco and his wife Arcelia of Sonora, Sam Carrasco and his wife Lisa of San Angelo, Mary Baiza of Andrews, Teresa Valenzuela and her husband Luis of McCamey, and Reinaldo Carrasco and his wife Debra of Odessa; two sisters, Adeliada Molinar of Mexico, and Catalina Paz of Dallas; 18 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
