Perry Edwards

Our dear son, Perry Whitley Edwards, 27, went to be with his Lord and Savior  on January 9, 2023. 

Perry was born to Lance and Jencie Edwards on March 5, 1995 and has been a  special gift ever since. He lived in Crane his entire life and was a member of  Tabernacle Baptist Church since childhood. He graduated from Crane High  School and went on to attend college at Sam Houston University, where he  graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He was later employed by the  Crane County Sheriff’s department, where he worked as a jailer. He also wrote, animated, and published his own comic book series in his personal  time. 

Perry was a man of many talents. He was a gifted artist, published comic book  author, and had a passion for weightlifting and fitness. He had recently  become a personal trainer at Crunch Fitness. He enjoyed sketching, disc golf, video gaming and attending comic-cons. Perry also enjoyed hanging out with his childhood friends into adulthood and still found room for all the new  friends he had made. 

Perry was preceded in death by his grandmother, Linda Edwards, his  grandparents George and Edith Bullard, his uncle George Bullard Jr. and his  aunt, Kay Brents. 

Perry is survived by his parents, Lance and Jencie Edwards; his sisters Sarah Skolfield and Elaine Truitt and her husband James; his grandfather Clifford  Harvel Edwards and aunt Samantha Bankhead. He is also survived by his  colleagues at the Crane County Sheriff’s Office along with numerous  extended family and many close friends. Perry was loved by many and will be  greatly missed. 

Services will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church at 2:00 PM on Saturday,  January 14, 2023.
