Patricia Gail Hicks Patrick of McCamey, Texas, went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 6, 2014, at her home. A memorial service will be held at the McCamey High School Auditorium in McCamey on Thursday, May 8th, at 2:00 pm with Reverend Byron Bitner and her nephew Jason Hicks officiating.
Patricia was born in Seagraves, Texas, to Larnce and Effie Hicks on March 22, 1949. Patricia graduated from Kermit High School and went on to earn her Bachelorâs degree in Education from Texas Tech University. Patricia was a school teacher for 35 years, with 28 of those in the McCamey Independent School District. She was a 36-year resident of McCamey and was very active in the community, working with Girl Scouts, St. Judeâs Hospital, 4-H, M.O.P, Badger Booster Club, and countless other organizations. She enjoyed working with young people, her dogs, movies, games, her friends and most of all her family.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Michael and Jimmy Hicks. She is survived by her husband, Leon Patrick of McCamey; two sons, Zachary Patrick and wife Alexandra of Andrews, TX, Tyson Patrick and girlfriend Kristen Isbell of Midland, TX; two step-sons, Shane Patrick and wife Melissa of Springdale, AR, Todd Patrick and wife Janis of Parkers Chapel, AR; two brothers, Larnce Hicks and wife Patty of Oklahoma City, OK, and Tommy Hicks and wife Julie of Denver City, TX; niece Michelle Hicks of Houston, TX; special cousin Mary Brunson and husband Paul of Lubbock, TX; 5 grandchildren, Jay and Clay Patrick of Springdale, AR, Anthony and James Patrick of Parkers Chapel, AR, Abigail Patrick of Andrews, TX, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends that have meant so much to her through the years.
In lieu of flowers for the memorial, Patricia had requested that a donation would be made to St. Judeâs Hospital, or M.O.P.. She had such a giving heart; this is just another way for her to show her support to wonderful organizations.
