Pamela Smart, 63, of McCamey, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in McCamey. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Pamela was born on September 11, 1951, in Olney, Texas. She married Glen Smart of December 31, 1970. She was a longtime resident of Girvin, living there for 32 years, before moving to McCamey 7 years ago. She retired from the US Postal Service after many years of service. She served several years as postmaster in Girvin. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in McCamey; and was a member of the Ministerial Alliance. Pamela had served as a troop leader for the Girl Scouts when she was younger. She loved to shop, and spend time with her family. However, her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, M.B. and Mildred Kilcrease; and a grandson, Logan Riley Burns.
Survivors include her husband, Glen Smart of McCamey; two daughters, Amy Navarrete and her husband Michael of McCamey; and Korey Burns and her husband Kenny of Lubbock; two sisters, Patricia Cottle and Priscilla Fisher, both of Granbury; and three grandchildren, Sydney Burns, Chloe Burns, and Leila Navarrete.
