Oscar Velasquez Sr., 75, of Crane, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, in San Angelo, Texas.
Oscar was born on April 9, 1947, in Fort Stockton, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Crane and was a Catholic. Oscar was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed going to the casino.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Albertano Velasquez, Ernest Velasquez, and Robert Velasquez, and one sister, Florinda Zarate.
Survivors include his wife Alinda Velasquez of Crane; three sons, Oscar Velasquez Jr. and his wife Nancy, Jesse Reyes of Big Lake, and Barnie Velasquez of San Antonio; three daughters, Cynthia Aguilar of Big Lake, Melissa Reyes of San Angelo, and Melissa Ramirez of San Antonio; three sisters, Lydia Tovar of Crane, Rosaelva Villegas of Odessa, and Eva Marquez of Midland; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Felix Segura officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Oscar Velasquez Jr., Kaden Velasquez, Ezekiel Ramirez, Felipe Rivas, Gabriel Marquez, and Abel Marquez.
