Oscar Murguia, 40, of Crane, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2013, at the Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM on Sunday, December 15, 2013, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 16, 2013, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Crane with Father Laurent Mvondo officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery with arrangements under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Oscar was born on December 22, 1972, in Mexico. Oscar enjoyed playing soccer, tending to and caring for his horses. He has many friends who can vow to his giving and helpful nature. He found it impossible to tell anyone "no". Most of all, he cared for, adored, and loved his children. He doted over his 10 year old daughter Samantha. She was the light of his eyes and his little princess. He loved and supported his 17 year old son Oscar Jr. in every area of his life-but most of all he was very proud of what Oscar Jr. had accomplished in football, being a recognized and successful football kicker.
Survivors include his wife, Susana Murguia; son, Oscar Murguia Jr.; and daughter, Samantha Murguia, all of Crane; his parents, Salvador and Petra Murguia of Guadalajara, Mexico; three brothers, Salvador Murguia Jr. and Victor Murguia, both of Crane, and Rafael Murguia of Guadalajara, Mexico; three sisters, Marisela Murguia and Angelica Murguia, both of Guadalaja, Mexico, and Olivia Garcia of Crane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be whole heartedly missed, but know he is already watching over his family at the side of the Lord.
