Nikki Lin Sheppard

Nikki Lin Sheppard, 68, of Crane, Texas passed away into the arms of the love of her life Jesus Christ on February 14, 2025. She was born in Odessa, Texas March 6, 1956, to parents Charles and Mary Sheppard. Nikki's true passion for education, music and children led her into a lifelong ministry of planting seeds of the Truth the Way and the Light into the hearts and minds of every life she encountered. Upon her graduation from Crane High School in 1974 she went on to Southwest Texas State University receiving her degree in Physical Education and History. After graduating college, she moved to the Houston area and taught in the public school system for many years before realizing her true calling was in the Christian Private School arena.

Upon her retirement from teaching she returned to Crane, Texas to take care of her parents and immediately continued her service through working with the children of First Baptist Church in Crane as well as serving as President for the Senior Citizens. She was a tireless volunteer, playing music at church, driving the Senior Citizens van and being an inspiration to "her kids".

Nikki was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mary Sheppard, sister Mitzi Lee Sheppard, paternal grandparents Beason D and Eddie Sheppard, maternal grandparents Seth and Vergie Chambliss.

She is survived by Aunts Teresa Jeanett McCanlies, Carolyn Sheppard, Phyllis Sheppard, and their families. Along with many friends and children whose lives she touched.

The family will be receiving friends and family at Nichols Funeral Home on Friday, February 21, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held February 22, at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Crane, Texas with Reverend Tommy Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Crane County Cemetery.
