Myrtle E. Barefoot, 99, of Sheffield, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015, at the Crane Skilled Nursing Center.
Graveside services will be held at 10am on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at the Sheffield Cemetery in Sheffield, Texas. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Myrtle was born on August 5, 1916, in Ozona, Texas. She had worked at the Sandal Mercantile in Sheffield, and as an aid for the Sheffield ISD.
She was a longtime resident of Sheffield, and a member of Mother Holmes Memorial Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, L.B. Barefoot.
She is survived by three children, Carolyn Adams of Lewisville, Texas, Margaret Craiger, and Georgia and Larry Barefoot all of Colorado, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to the Mother Holmes Memorial Baptist Church in Sheffield.
