Mona Sue Branch Yocham
On Tuesday, December 15, 2020, Mona Sue Yocham, loving mother to 3 children, passed away at the age of 85 at her home in Rankin, TX. Graveside services will be held at the Rankin Cemetery at 3:00 pm on Sunday December 20, 2020.
Mona Sue was born on September 10, 1935 at 4:00 am on the Branch Ranch in North East Reagan County, Big Lake, TX to Ed Guy & Mona Glee Branch. On July 7, 1952, she married Grover Lee Yocham and they raised 3 children, Guy, Owen & Leesa in Rankin.
She received her Masters of Education Degree from Sul Ross State University at Alpine, TX in 1988. She worked for many years in the Big Lake, Rankin & McCamey ISD’s.
Mona Sue, as known by many, Mimi by others, had a passion for quilting and had honed her skills with much help from the Amish ladies of LaGrange Co. Indiana. She also loved to be outside in her yard watching the wildlife come in from the pasture eating grain she had poured out for them! She had a passion for God, loved her family dearly and just wanted everyone together, happy & healthy. One of her phrases….Jesus, Lord help us all!!
Mona Sue is preceded in death by her father, Ed Guy Branch, her mother, Mona Glee Lindley Branch & her brother, Fields Edwin Branch. She is survived by her sons Guy Yocham of Stiles, Owen & Lori Yocham of Midland & her daughter, Leesa & Arlon Eklund of Mineral Wells, her sister, Carolyn Young of Burnet, TX, 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, several nieces, a nephew & several cousins.
