Mike Robinson of Sheffield Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 3rd, 2025. Born in Wichita Falls Texas, May 31st, 1953. Mike grew up in Lovington, New Mexico, where he graduated from Lovington High School (LHS) and met his first wife, Betty Turner. Together, they had three children: Sean and his wife Lisa and their two daughters Keely, and Kambel; Amanda Gutierrez and her husband Jeff and two sons Kobe and Kyle and his wife Katalyn and their three children Tucker, Tenley, and Turner; Ben Henson and his two daughters Katrina Henson, Kairei Henson and her brand new baby girl Juliette Bela Bergeron just born January 4th, 2025. Mike continued on to graduate College from New Mexico Junior College (NMJC), as well as Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU). There Mike found the love of his life, Cheryl Robinson , and they built a beautiful family together. They had two sons: Jonathan and his wife Skyla, Jaeden and his wife Madera, who blessed him with two more grandsons, Ashton and Beau. Mike also cherished his stepchildren: Joe Marks and his children, Braxton Lyles, and Skylar Metchus and her daughter Emilee. Melissa Sparks and her husband Troy and their children TJ, Gracie, and Ty.
Mike’s close family of origin held a special place in his heart. He is survived by cousins John Ryan, Sue Ryan, Steve Seabury, Sandy Seabury, Stan Taigen, and Toni Taigen, along with his beloved Aunt Sue.
A man of many talents, Mike wore many hats over his lifetime. His career included roles with Anheuser-Busch’s Food Service, Florida Power & Light’s Wind Energy Division, and the Texas Youth Commission, among others. In 1972, Mike moved to Sheffield, where he became a community cornerstone, owning and operating Rob.Co Weed and Pest Control, the Rock Inn, and The Tin Cup Café.
Mike’s true gift was the joy he brought to those around him. His generosity, quick wit, unshakable positivity, and immense intellect made him unforgettable. With a mind like a library, filled with stories he often lived firsthand, Mike was a source of inspiration and humor to everyone who knew him. He never met a stranger and had a wonderful way of making everyone feel like they were special to him and belonged with him.
His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Rest in peace, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, cousin, and friend.
