Merle M. Hall, 75, of Rankin, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Rankin with Reverends Randy Bush and Troy Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the Rankin Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
Merle was born on October 3, 1937 in Madison County, Texas. He married Nelda Moores on June 6, 1958 in Dallas, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Upton County; and he was a Rancher. Merle enjoyed writing cowboy poetry, and playing dominoes with his friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Aubrey McKnight Hall; and three sisters, Patricia Hall Crocker, Carolyn Gully, and Jean Lasell.
Survivors include his wife, Nelda Hall of Rankin; three sons, Andrew Hall and his wife Catherine of Tacoma, Washington, John Hall and his wife Heather of Odessa, and Darrell Hall and his wife Tanya of Denton; two daughters, Janice Theis and her husband Kevin of Rankin, and Amy Cross of Abilene; a sister, Frances Guinn and her husband Frank of Corsicana; 18 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
