Mary Lucille Kiser LaQuey passed away on January 26, 2021, in Bertram, Texas at the age of 93. She was the wife of Kenneth Delwin LaQuey who passed away on November 18, 1984. She married the love of her life on October 8, 1944, and shared 40 years of marriage together.
Mary was born at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas on May 2, 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Kiser and Lillian Walker Kiser, step father Stephen Artell, and brother Roy Guy Kiser.
Being a long time resident of McCamey, she was a champion of droughts, dust storms, giving praise and drying tears while raising two children. She was the Director of the McCamey Senior Citizen Center for many years.
For those lucky enough to have known her, she would be remembered for her steadfast dedication to integrity and fidelity, not to mention her musical whistling and beautiful smile.
She is survived by her daughter, Lillian Gentry and husband Sam of Spicewood, Texas, her son William Joseph LaQuey and wife Neta, of Sierra Vista, Arizona. Three granddaughters; Samantha and Lacey LaQuey of Sierra Vista, Arizona; and Chelsea LaQuey of Anchorage, Alaska. Two great grandsons, Caleb and Noah LaQuey, both of Sierra Vista, Arizona.
Graveside services will be held on February 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the McCamey cemetery. Funeral services are conducted by Shaffer & Nichols Funeral Home of Crane, Texas.
