Mary Baiza Hernandez, 72, of McCamey, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020, in Fort Stockton.
Mary was born on December 30, 1947, in Terlingua, Texas. She was a longtime resident of McCamey a homemaker and a Catholic. Mary enjoyed baking, sewing, and working in her yard. She really loved going to the casino gambling.
Mary loved her family and spending priceless time with her grandchildren. She was there for her family anytime they needed her. She was always full of joy and enjoyed life.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Angelita Baiza; a set of twins; five brothers; and a special nephew, Augustine Abalos.
Mary is survived by her husband, Humberto Hernandez of Hobbs, NM; six daughters, Angie Garza of McCamey, Toni Garza of Midland, Ruby Quintana and Ernie of Kearney, Nebraska, Camilla Quintana and Fidel of Fort Stockton, Aurora Garcia of Houston, and April Perkins of Fort Stockton; brother, Epifanio Baiza and Mary Helen of Odessa; two sisters, Sarah Hinojosa of McCamey, and Dora Grupe of Del Rio; 27 grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in McCamey. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McCamey with burial to follow in the Resthaven Cemetery.
