Marvin Lee Whatley

Marvin Lee Whatley, 93, of Rankin Texas, passed away after a short illness surrounded by family on August 3, 2022.

After serving 2 years in the United States Army he worked for Rankin ISD for 15 years and then retired after 20 years of service with the Rankin County Hospital District.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Alice Whatley, sister Ruth Cunningham, and daughter Caye Norred.

Mr. Whatley is survived by wife Barbara of 67 years; daughters; Melissa Nichols and husband Grant of Edmond, OK; Donna Boothe and husband Tim of Natalia, TX; and son-in-law Paul Norred of Midland, TX; five grandchildren; Richard Nichols of Oklahoma City, OK; Alicia and husband Jason Morton of Edmond, OK; Andrea Boothe of San Antonio, TX; Sarah Nichols and fiancé Scott Johnson of Oklahoma City, OK; Cody Norred and wife Amy Norred of Chesapeake, VA; and three great grandchildren; Danielle Johnson of Chesapeake, VA; and Jacob and Lukas Morton of Edmond, OK.

A graveside service will be held at Rankin Cemetery on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 2 PM in Rankin, TX.
