McCAMEY: Martha B Phelps, 88 of McCamey, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Shannon Hospital in San Angelo.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey with John Tims officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of McCamey.
Martha was born on January 23, 1922 in Negra, NM. She was a homemaker and had lived in McCamey since 2001. She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon Peter Orand and Perley May Stockton Orand; her husband, Herbert Raymond "H.R." "Slim" Phelps; her daughter, Pearlie Ann O'Haver; two grandchildren, James Marshall Holland, and Kelly Phelps.
Survivors include her son, Gene Raymond Phelps and his wife Amelia of Sanderson; two daughters, Joyce Tims and her husband Bob of Sheffield, TX, and June Robertson of McCamey; three brothers, James Wesley Orand, Daniel Pike Orand both of Rock Port, TX, and Joseph Landon Orand of California; a sister, Lilly Lee Southern of Hereford, TX; 7 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
