FORT STOCKTON: Martha J. Meadors, 56 of Fort Stockton, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the Home Hospice House in Odessa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 1, 2008 at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Kurt Hamlin officiating. Burial will follow in the East Hill Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Martha was born on July 22, 1952 in Lake Providence, LA. She was a Jailer for Pecos County, and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a longtime Sunday school teacher for the 3 Years Olds. She was preceded in death by her parents, James "Jim" Beard Jr. and Melvie Jeanette Beard; and a brother, James Beard, III, who passed away on July 30, 2000.
She is survived by three sons, Daniel Meadors and his wife Vanessa of Sugar Grove, West Virginia, Dee Jay Meadors of Fort Stockton, and Derrick Meadors and his wife Brianna of Shreveport, LA; a brother, Carroll Beard of Del Rio, TX; and one grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family request memorials be made to the Home Hospice House in Odessa, Texas.
