Marcela J. Rodriguez

Marcela J. Rodriguez, 80, of McCamey, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, in Odessa.

Marcela was born in Manuel Benavides Chihuahua, Mexico on January 16, 1943.  She was a resident of McCamey for over 50 years.  Marcela was a member of the Fuente En El Desierto Templo Apostolico.  She loved going to church.

Marcela enjoyed cooking for her siblings when they came to visit.   She also enjoyed making tamales.  She was known as the tamale lady.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Catarino Rodriguez, and a son, Santiago Rodriguez, siblings, Dora Parada, Gorge Jaquez, and Joel Jaquez.

Marcela is survived by her children, Catarino Rodriguez Jr. and Roberto Rodriguez, both of Odessa, a daughter, Aramita Tarango of Imperial, and David Rodriguez of McCamey; her siblings, Juan Jaquez, Concepcion Rubio, Elena Ceniceros, José Jaquez, Tita Juárez, Ramón Jaquez, Hervey Jaquez, Francisco Jaquez Jr, and Gilberto Jaquez; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in McCamey with burial in Resthaven Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Catarino Rodriguez Jr., Jerry Tarango, Ted Tarango, Bobbito Rodriguez, Andrew Rodriguez, and David Rodriguez Jr.
