He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Antonia Gamboa and his father Manuel Gamboa, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Blasa Gamboa Castro of San Angelo, TX; his children, Auden and his wife Lizette of Midland, TX, Manuel III and his wife Irene of Water Valley, TX, Jose Mauro and his wife Jackie of Eagle Pass, TX, and Anallency and her husband Juan of Pecos, TX; grandchildren, Isaac, Manny, Julian, Jacob, Mia, Lauren, Marli, and Ezra; brothers, Juan, Ruben, Jesus, Samuel, Rigo; sisters, Elizabeth, Magdalena, Hilda, Luciano, and Maria Lourdes.
A rosary was held in his memory on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 7pm at the Park Building in Rankin. Mass was celebrated on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 10am at the Park Building in Rankin with Father Isadore officiating. Burial followed in the Rankin Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
