Lydia Faye McKee, 58, of McCamey, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2013, at the McCamey Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at the Church of Christ in McCamey with Minister Steve Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey with arrangements under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Faye was born on December 13, 1954 in Big Lake, Texas. She was a graduate of Pflugerville High School. Faye was a longtime resident of McCamey, living here since 1974. She was a homemaker, however she had worked as the manager for Perry's, as well as having worked at Dollar General, the flower shop, and the McCamey Hospital. Faye loved to read and at one time owned her own book store called "The Book Worm". Faye was also a member of the Church of Christ in McCamey. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Zane McKee in 2007.
Faye is survived by her husband, Charley McKee; her son, Clint McKee and his wife Taletha; her daughter, Mimi McKee; her parents, Margaret and Sug Morgan, all of McCamey; five grandchildren; Robert, Shalea, Hannah, Baylea, and Kristin; a brother, Floyd Morgan of Sheffield; three sisters, Sharon James of Iraan, Rita James of Eldorado, TX; and Karen Terry of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
