Lula May Lanning, 70, of Crane, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at the Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in Crane with Reverend Jimmy Carrasco officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery.
Lula was born on January 3, 1946, in Selma, California. She was a homemaker, and a longtime resident of Crane. Lula loved gardening and her roses. She was very creative and loved to decorate. Lula was an avid reader, a devoted Elvis fan, and loved to dance.
She had a cheerful personality, and a beautiful spirit. Lula loved her family and the Lord, and she was a Christian.
Lula was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lloyd DâWayne Emery; and a sister, Dorothy Wilson.
She is survived by her loving husband, Freddy Lanning of Crane; three sons, Floyd Wayne Emery, Jeffery Paul Emery, and Darrel Boyd Emery and his wife Crystal, all of Crane; two daughters, Patty Diane Emery of Midland, and Judy Kay Emery of California; one brother, Fred W. King of Devine, TX; and a sister, Phyllis Guynes of California; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
