Lottie Mae Bradshaw

November 13, 1916 — November 14, 2012

Lottie Mae Bradshaw, 96, of McCamey, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at the McCamey Convalescent Center.

Lottie was born on November 13, 1916 in Eastland, Texas to Ella Mae and Baxter Bennett. She attended Eastland schools and on May 11, 1935 she married Arthur Bradshaw. Lottie became a member of the First Baptist Church of McCamey on February 25, 1940 and received recognition for having the longest membership by letter on September 24, 2006. She loved playing bridge and volunteering in the community. With her love of flowers and searching for unusual pieces of driftwood it was only natural that she would become a member of the McCamey Garden Club, winning numerous awards for her flower arrangements throughout the years. Lottie was always making something for the grandkids and enjoyed all kinds of crafts from making pillows to supplying everyone with a few new pot holders every year for Christmas. She enjoyed selling her crafts at the annual Christmas Bazaar and would always have one special stocking or Christmas bag that would be awarded to a lucky shopper at the end of the day. Mrs. Bradshaw also received the McCamey Chamber of Commerce Pioneer of the Year Award in 2006. One of her fondest memories was being chosen as the Queen of the Nursing Home for the 2008 Homecoming Parade.

She took pride in her belief in God and her love of family and friends. She touched many lives with her graciousness and Grandma Lottie will be greatly missed.

Lottie was preceded in death by her loving husband Arthur (A.E.) Bradshaw of 65 years, her daughter, Willadean Bradshaw Bolen and son-in-law, Francis Carrol Bolen, and her sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Lee Shipman. Survivors are her grandchildren: Kyle Bolen and wife Velinda of McCamey, Texas, Leland Bolen and wife Katie of Iraan, Texas, Brad Bolen of San Angelo, Texas, Lynette Watson and husband Greg of Monahans, Texas, and Machele Keesee and husband Marty of Andrews, Texas. Her great-grandchildren: Cymber Tisdale and husband Dustin, Bryne Bolen, Rowdy Bolen and wife Tameisha, Chancy Allen and husband Ty, Golden Bolen, Cherokee Bolen, Jessica Bolen, Pate Bolen, Gentry Watson, Tyler Watson, Andrea DeSpain and her husband Jeff, Cody Keesee, Kendall Keesee and Blake Keesee. Her great-great- grandchildren: Hollis Tisdale, Alyssa and Reese Bolen, Tavin, Trace and Caybre Allen, Atlanta Bolen and Parker DeSpain.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers at the McCamey Convelescent Center and the McCamey Hospital for their caring and kindness over the past few years.

Funeral services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in McCamey with the Reverend Byron Bitner officiating. Burial will be at the Resthaven Cemetery. Arrangements are by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the West Texas Boys Ranch, 10223 Boys Ranch Rd, San Angelo, Texas 76904.
