Lois Heard Baker, 75, of Crane, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Hospice House in Odessa.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Crane with Reverend Jimmy Carrasco officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery with arrangements under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Lois was born on August 29, 1936 in Brown County, Texas to Urban Fredrick Heard and Lela Essie Allgood Heard. She was a longtime resident of Crane, living here since 1964. She and her husband Doyle owned and operated Anchor Pest Control before they retired.
Lois was a member of the First Baptist Church; the Permian Basin Motorcycle Association; and the Rebekah Lodge. She had served as administrator for the Crane County Senior Citizens, worked for Richard W. Box Funeral Homes, and Joans Flowers, and was a driver for Sewell prior to her retirement.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Urban Fredrick and Lela Essie Allgood Heard; her husband, Harold Doyle Baker; her brother, J.W. Heard; and two sisters, Opal Leach and Mary Ann Simpson.
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews; and great nieces, and great nephews.
