Lloyd Wayne Lancaster, 79, of Crane, TX departed to Heaven to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 11, 2014.
Lloyd was born in Menio, Iowa on April 18, 1934 to the late Thomas and Malissa Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy; and his son David; his sisters; Ollie, Lucille, Marie, Ivy, and Pauline; and his brothers; George, Charlie, Jess, and Tom.
Lloyd is survived by a son, Rocky Lancaster of Winnsboro, TX; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and John Wisener of Crane, TX; and a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Sonia Lancaster of Como, TX. He has one grandson, Staven Lancaster of Moore, OK; a niece and her husband Debbie and Kenneth Davis of Odessa, TX; and a nephew Dee Thornley of Marlow, OK.
Lloyd was very close to his cousin Nadine Turnbull who lived with his family and became like a sister to him. Also, Dick and Kay Shiery were childhood friends and remain so to this day.
Lloyd loved being around people. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, metal art, canning, baking and carpentry were a few of the many hobbies he enjoyed. Mechanic work was his trade in life and how he supported his family. He rough-necked in the Crane area when most of the roads were still dirt and mud. Later he moved to Los Angeles, California area erecting power lines.
Lloyd loved animals. He loved feeding the birds often reminisced about a duck named Waddles and a dog named Spooky who were always dear to his heart and made him laugh.
Lloyd will be laid to rest in Hobbs, New Mexico with his family.
