Leonel Gutierrez, 63 of McCamey, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, July 15, 2011 at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in McCamey. Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McCamey with Deacon Julio Carrasco officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Leonel was born on January 15, 1948 in Fort Stockton. He had lived in McCamey all his life. He had worked in the oilfield in well service; and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Angela Robinson of College Station, Mary Franco of Midland, and Molly Ward of Odessa; four brothers, George Gutierrez and Jose Gutierrez both of Odessa, Ruben Gutierrez of Midland, and Sammy Gutierrez of McCamey. Also surviving are 19 nieces and nephews; and 24 great nieces and nephews which he loved and cherished.
