Leon Barton

October 22, 1941 — August 1, 2021

Leon Barton completed his journey of life on this Earth on Aug 1st, 2021 and went on to the happy hunting ground in the sky. He is survived by his beloved wife, Emily of 35 yrs. He’s also survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was born on Oct 22nd, 1941, in Odessa Texas to Otis and Soleta Barton. He had 1 brother and 4 sisters.

His 79 years on Earth were filled with adventures and one great true love, Ms Emily. He loved all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren just the same. He never knew a stranger and had stories for days. He instilled life lessons to us all and was always good at giving us advice and leading us down the paths of life. He showed us faithfulness through his words and actions. In God's time was a phrase he used often in life to help guide us in times of need. He loved working hard in all that he did. He began his career by proudly serving his Country in the US Navy. Leon was truly a jack of all trades. He owned his own businesses, he worked in the oilfield from Wyoming to west Texas. Before he retired, he taught CDL drivers at Midland College. In his down time, he made beautiful bird houses to sell and give to his family and friends. His and Ms Emily's favorite place for 30 yrs was Pecan Valley in Junction, TX where he and his family celebrated many holidays and spent many nights camping and making memories. Nothing in the world meant more to Leon than his family, his church family and all his babies. He loved a mean game of dominoes around the kitchen table or the picnic table. He loved rocking his babies and dancing with his Sweetheart. He'll be missed for his laughter, his jokes, his wisdom, his amazing hugs and his gentle touch. Not a day will go by that we don't feel his presence around us in all that we do. Rest easy Mr. Leon and we'll all see you in God's time.
