LaRenda Jo Kilgore

LaRenda Jo Kilgore, of Fort Stockton, Texas went home to her lord on December 8, 2022. She was 68 years old. She was born August 4, 1954, in Crane Texas, to Joe and Zona Day. 

She was a strong willed and spirited mother, nanny, sister and daughter. A master and expert of all things, and if you don’t think that to be true, you could have asked her and she would have told you. If your toddler was taking too long to start walking or talking, well just take them to Nanny’s house, they’d be walking, talking and drinking diet dr pepper by the end of day. 

She spent countless hours outside growing her plants and flowers, the world lost the greenest thumb to ever live.  

She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family. She did not define her family as only blood, it included in-laws, outlaws, crooks and straights.

Our sweet Nanny is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Zona Day, and her grand baby Angel Kilgore. She is survived by her 5 children; Joe and wife Joeli Kilgore, Charles and wife Ryan Kilgore, Misty and husband Marty Fish, Kristopher Kilgore, Dusty and wife Logan Kilgore. She leaves behind the most important people to her, the grandchildren and great grandchildren; Bitty, Corrina, Keaton, Oliver, Kaitlin, Megan, Kendall, Carly, Quinn, Kara, Kolin, Danielle, Cera, Easton, Madden, Tanner, Carter. She is also survived by her siblings; LaWayne, Shannon, Pauline, Tina, Rhonda, Phyliss. 

In the last days on earth, she was comforted by the grace of God and in her own words, we are here for only a short time, but I’m here for a good time. 

In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s in her honor. 

The family will have a private service at a later time.
