Julian V. Heredia

Julian V. Heredia 93, of Crane passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the Crane Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Julian was born on November 7, 1928, in Imperial, Texas. He was the eldest of nine siblings and at an earlier age he started working to help support the family. He met the love of his life at the age of nineteen and she was sixteen Jesusita Moreno. They wed on May 10, 1947, and raised 10 children mostly all in Crane, Texas. On May 10, 1997, Julian and Jesusita celebrated their Golden Anniversary.

Julian loved to play baseball, play dominoes and checkers, he also had talent to play the guitar every once in a while. Julian played second base with the Veteranos from Midland, Texas under Coach Manuel Nunes. One of Julian’s favorite baseball player was Sandy Koufax. Julian could sit for hours to talk about his favorite sport. The LA Dodgers was his favorite team and was happy when they won the World Series 2020. Julian also enjoyed to watch WWE

Julian retired from the Crane County Road and Bridge. He would always support his grandkids and you would also find him at the baseball and softball games. Julian was the #1 Crane Baseball fan. Julian would cruise through town and sometimes stop at the local DQ to get an Ice cream or a shake.
Julian was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church and a member of the Del Colores.


Julian was preceded in death by his wife, Jesusita (Jesse) Heredia, two daughters Betty Moreno Heredia and Gloria Heredia Lujan, one son Ruben M. Heredia, one grandson Paul Lujan and one great grandson Joseph Tavarez.

Survivors include daughters Ema Rey and husband Junior of Monahans, Delia Mendez and husband Al Mendez, Linday Ray and Dora Cadena of Odessa, JoAnn Mireles and husband Margil Mireles, and Sophia Franco and husband Rudy Franco, son Robert Heredia of Dallas. Julian was a grandfather of 21, great grandfather of 37 and a great great grandfather of 5.

Viewing will be on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, from 9-9pm at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home, Rosary will be said on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 7pm at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home. Viewing from 9-2 on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:30 on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery with arrangements under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
