JOYCE FISHER SHIPMAN
CRANE: Joyce Fisher Shipman, 91 of Crane went to be with our Lord and Savior on October 27, 2008, at the Crane Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Crane with Reverend Tommy Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shipman was born on August 13, 1917 in Lamar County, Texas. She married Kenneth C. Shipman August 26, 1935 in Paris, Texas and he preceded her in death in November of 1986. On January 9, 1991, she married Mutt Flippin and he preceded her in death in February of 1994.
She enjoyed life to the fullest and her family meant everything to her. She loved rodeos, old time country music, camping and fishing. She worked in retail starting out at the Fair Department Store and ended her career at the Crane Food Store in 1982. She was a Sunday School Teacher for many years and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Crane, Texas.
She was also preceded in death by her Mother and Father O.W. and Myrtle Fisher; two brothers, Norman and Charles Fisher and one sister, Frances Johns.
She is survived by a son, K.C. Shipman of Arlington, TX; a daughter, Jowanna Griffin and husband Tommy of Crane, TX; a step-daughter, Wilma Campbell and husband Paul of Odessa, TX. Grandsons Butch Lioce of Dublin, TX, Ricky Shipman, David Jeter, Jimmy Jeter all of Dallas, TX, and Kenny Shipman and wife Sally of Tuscaloosa, AL; granddaughters, Twila Griffin of Odessa, TX, Traci Sloan and husband Steve of Big Spring, TX, Pamela Lioce of Moskogee, OK, Rhonda Ramsey and Wanda Kaiser and her husband Chris, all of Fredericksburg; step-grandson Michael Campbell and wife Crystal of Odessa, TX, and step-granddaughter Lori Proffitt and husband Steven of Odessa, TX. Seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
