Joseph Anthony Tavarez, at the age of 18, went to heaven on December 30th, 2017. Joseph was born on July 1st, 1999, in Odessa, TX to Victor and Roxanne Tavarez.
Joseph is preceded in death by his great grandmother Jesusita Heredia, grandmother Ramona Carrasco, cousin Paul Lujan, Aunt Betty Heredia, Aunt Carrah Carrasco, cousin Yasmine Flores, cousin Jimmy Joe Santiago, great grandparents Santiago A. and Elida V Porras, and Basillio V. and Enriqueta L. Tavarez
Joseph grew up in Crane, TX. He was a senior at Crane High School. He was a member of the football team, golf team, tennis team, FFA, and 4H. He was a wonderful student and a great companion to many. Joseph was known by his family, friends and the Crane community to be sharp, witty and respectful. His trade mark smile will forever be etched in our hearts and throughout the Crane Community. Joseph planned to attend college and pursue a degree to become a Veterinarian.
Joseph loved to be with his family and friends. He had a love for his horses and his dog Dally, and loved to rope and ride. He was a special young man, and could light up any room that he walked into with his witty words, kind heart and vibrant smile. He was our #1.
Joseph is survived by his parents Victor and Roxanne Tavarez, brother Josiah Tavarez, grandparents Margil and JoAnn Mireles, and Lourdes and Olga Tavarez, all of Crane TX. Grandparents Abel and Trish Carrasco, of Odessa, TX. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral Arrangements are being handled by the wonderful Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home, in Crane TX. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 at 2pm, at the Good Shepherd Church, burial will follow at the Crane Cemetery.
