Johnnie Williams Boothe

On June 6, 2020, Johnnie Boothe stepped onto that beautiful shore and took the outstretched hand of her Lord and Savior. She looked into His amazing eyes as he said, “Welcome home.” He handed to her that beautiful baby boy, Art Blaine, and He placed her hand into the hand of her loving companion, Don Harlan.

As her Lord escorted her down the path, she received a hug from her mother, Lavania, and her daddy, Thomas, and her brothers and sisters. They stopped before the throne of her sovereign Master, who said to her, “Welcome, my child.” Oh, what a glorious day!

Johnnie was mostly a stay-at-home mom to Tim and Angelia, her family, her life. She worked tirelessly for her Father’s favor and glory, teaching young children of His love and mercy. She led teen girls in the practice of His Word, and she truly loved all the members of the fellowship.

Johnnie delivered mail in Crane for a time, and knew and enjoyed all her “people”, giving a kind word or hug along the way. She was definitely a hugger!

She also worked in her community showing God’s love to all she met. She volunteered with the West Texas Literacy Council, teaching adults to read and balance their checkbooks, while showing them God’s love. Johnnie was also active in the VIPS program in the school system, helping the kiddos learn their “P’s and Q’s” as well as the lesson of the day.

Johnnie so loved all the ladies with whom she was associated through the years in her church and her life.

Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Lavania Williams; husband, Don Boothe; son, Art Blaine Boothe; and brothers, Roy Williams, Richard Williams, Raymond Williams, and Harold Williams; sisters Betty Faircloth, and Carylon Wortham.

Johnnie is survived by her son, Tim Boothe and his wife Donna of Natalia, TX; her daughter, Angelia Boothe Turner and her husband Lee of League City, TX; three grandchildren, Randi Rhea Land, Ryan Daniel Dean, and Andrea Boothe; two great grandchildren, Damian Zimmerman and Athena Land; one brother, Riley Williams of Odessa; two sisters, Juanita Kennedy and Nina Rayne, both of Odessa; a special nephew, Tim Lee and his wife Pam of Crane, TX, and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Johnnie is also survived by a stepson, Wesley Harlan Boothe and his wife Nancy of Anadarko, OK; three step grandchildren, Christopher Boothe, Stephen Boothe, and Jamie Boothe; and one step great granddaughter, Olivia Boothe.

Graveside services were held at 10:00am on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at the Crane County Cemetery with Reverend David Evans officiating. Arrangements were under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
