Johnie Mae Jones, 88, died Tuesday May 12, 2015 in Crane, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at the Mary Street Church of Christ in Crane. Burial will follow in the Sunset Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
She was born November 26, 1926 in Dallas, Texas to Arthur and Armanda Lane.
On June 6, 1946 she married Louie Jones Jr in McCamey, Texas.
She was preceded in death by Louie Jones Jr. (June 2, 1962) and children:
Buelah Van (January 21, 1952) and Louie Jones III (October 18, 2013).
Johnie Mae lived in Texas: Maysfield, Tahoka, and Crane (1945-2015). She
was baptized at the Church of Christ in Big Spring, Texas on March 30,
2003 and was a member of Mary Street Church of Christ in Crane, Texas.
Johnie Mae had a large family. She had three siblings she loved dearly:
brother A. J. Lane (died August 28, 2002), sister Elmira Forman (died January
31. 2014), and brother, Arthur (Jack) Lane. He lives in Crane, Texas.
She had 34 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces/nephews whose acts of
love during her illness epitomize âcharity begins at homeâ.
