John Villegas, 61, of Crane, passed away Friday, September 16, 2011, at Hospice House in Odessa.
Rosary was said at 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 18, in the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in Crane. Memorial services were held Monday, September 19, at 1 pm in the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Father Laurent Mvondo officiating. He was laid to rest in the Crane County Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Homes.
John was born on December 7, 1949 to the late Fidel and Esiquia Villegas in McCamey, Texas. He was an Air Force veteran and a long time resident of Crane. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sianna Mylene Villegas.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gloria Villegas of Crane; sons, James Villegas of Amarillo and Adrian Villegas of Crane; brothers, Vincent Villegas and his wife Vicenta and Augustine Villegas and his wife Mary of Crane, Leo Villegas and his wife Rosaelva and Joe Villegas and his wife Mary of Odessa and Lupe Villegas and his wife Rosa of McCamey; sisters, Mary Ramirez and her husband Juan of Monahans and Virginia Ramos and her husband Florentino of Odessa; grandchildren Celestina and Ivan Villegas of Canton and Salvador Villegas of Midland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
