Joe Warren Moore, 85, of Brownwood, Texas passed away on Good Friday, April 14, 2017 in Crane. He passed peacefully, surrounded by family and his beloved Chihuaha mix, Jo Jo, after an extended battle with cancer and heart disease.
Joe was born in Blanket, Texas on May 23, 1931. An Air Force veteran and lifelong businessman, he spent most of his professional years in Crane as the proprietor of various oilfield service businesses. He was best known as an active member of the community, serving for years as a leader with the Crane 4-H Club. He was recognized in 2016 by dedication of the Crane Livestock Show in his name. In 1994 he âretiredâ to Brownwood, where he remained active producing oil wells, buying and selling cars and helping those around him.
Joe is survived by son, Colonel Joe Wesley (Wes) Moore, USAF, currently stationed at Langley AFB, Virginia, and his wife Tracy; Daughter, Lora Gay Seabourn of Crane and her husband Todd; beloved sisters, Sue Renois of Benbrook and husband Harvey (Dude) and Bonnie Cantwell and husband Worthy of Plainview; grandchildren Hunter Wayne Seabourn of Kermit, Melinda Leigh Kensinger of Stafford, Virginia, Lainey Gay Curry and husband Matt of Midlothian, Travis Joe Moore and wife Jamie of Grapevine, Jolee Lou Seabourn of Stephenville, Troy Scott Moore of New Braunfels, Kaitlyn Jane Hamilton and husband Jake of Hampton, Virgina and Thomas Andrew Moore and Tyler Garret Moore of Yorktown, Virginia. He had four great grandchildren; Aiden James Kensinger, Kanon Wayne Curry, Cooper Layne Curry and Dawson Wayne Seabourn and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved their âUncle Joe.â
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home in Crane with graveside services and interment to follow at the Crane Cemetery.
