Jesus C. Gonzalez
Jesus “Chuy” Gonzalez of Crane, TX was a caring husband, father and grandfather. He passed away on January 4, 2022, at the age of 85. Born in Langtry, TX and raised in Rankin, TX, he later married Guadalupe Lopez and made their home in Crane.
Jesus is survived by his son Jessie and his wife Rosalinda Gonzalez of Crane, TX and daughter JoElda and her husband Adan Tijerina of Odessa, TX. He also had 5 loving grandchildren Rosendo Aguilera, Cassandra Gonzalez, Jessica Woodfin, Jennifer Hensley and Cynthia Beardslee and 5 great grandchildren, Rosendo, Paislee, Matthew, Corinn and Isaac. Jesus was preceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe Lopez and parents, Pedro and Josefa Gonzalez and siblings, Irene Nunico, Leonor Gonzalez, Hortencia Barrera, Luze Ramirez and other siblings that passed at birth.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1959-1962 as a medic. He worked in the oilfield much of his life and retired as a chemical truck driver in 1999. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, loved playing the guitar and singing with his nephews. Our grandfather was known for his kind heart, independent spirit and always giving a helping hand to the staff and residents at the Crane Nursing and Rehab. You could always count on him to brighten your day.
Funeral service will be held at 11am at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home & Chapel in Crane on Saturday, January 8th and burial followed at Crane County Cemetery.
