Jean Jackson
February 22, 1934-November 27, 2019
Mama, Nennie, and just Maw to all.
She never met a person she didn’t try to feed or help in some way. She had plenty of loves in her life. She loved God, family, animals and nature. She would take in anyone who needed love and nurturing. Whether it be a child who needed a hug, a grown man needing some food in his belly and some advice, or an animal who needed nursing back to health. Those were her best talents. Jean loved to sew, quilt, crochet, or make anything with her hands.
She married Glen Jackson on April 14, 1951, in Lovington, NM. They worked hand and hand in the trucking business while raising their family. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
She was mama to four children, Glenda Williams of Tahoka, TX, Gary and Gleda Jackson of Silver City, NM, Joe Jackson of Rankin, TX, and Gail Stark of Burleson, TX. A very special eight grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren who were able to call her Nennie.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Jackson; her mother, father, and a granddaughter.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 2, 2019, at the Rankin Cemetery with Jacob Reed officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
