JAYLEA BURROUGHS SMITH
McCamey: Jaylea Burroughs Smith was born July 16, 1930 at Silver Valley in Coleman County. She was an only child of Juanita Rhodes Burroughs and Raymond Burroughs. She departed this life on February 17, 2011.
Jay and Enoch Smith were married February 13, 1948 in Goldsmith Texas. Jay always considered her most important role to be wife, mother and grandmother. When Enoch began his welding business she became secretary, bookkeeper and sometimes welder's helper. They worked side by side for many years. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2003 after 55 years of marriage. She will be laid to rest beside him in Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey Texas. She is survived by her two sons and their families: Ray and Silvia and their children, Audry and Shay Smith of McCamey and Howard and Rheba and their son Brian and his children, Grace and Dawson Smith of Flower Mound.
Services will be held at the East Side Baptist Church with the Reverend Murray Sauders officiating on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 3:00 PM. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer- Nichols Funeral Home.
