Janie Elguea

Janie Elguea, 68, of San Angelo, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.

Janie was born on February 8, 1956, in Seguin, Texas. She was raised in Iraan and was a 1976 graduate of Iraan High School. Janie was a longtime resident of Lubbock and had lived in San Angelo the past four years. She devoted her life to being a Nanny and she loved children, they were her passion. Janie had many talents and enjoyed crocheting and was known for her baby blankets. She loved taking pictures and watching movies. Janie was a Catholic by faith.

Those that preceded her in death were her mother, Adela Elguea; brother, David Elguea; and grandparents, Felipe and Anita Rivas; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Janie is survived by her brother, Ubaldo Elguea and his wife Annie of Boerne, TX; a niece, Ava Jenice Juarez of Boerne; nephew, Austin Lee Elguea of Boerne; great nieces Morgan and Harlow; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024 at the Civic Center in Iraan from 2pm until 6pm. Rosary will be said at 6pm at the Civic Center. Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 11am at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Iraan. Burial will follow in the Restland Cemetery. 

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jose Luis Rivas, Jason Rivas, Jody Rivas, Manuel Perez, Jamie Perez, and Chris Perez. Honorary pallbearer will be Austin Elguea.
