JANE TAYLOR
CRANE: Jane Taylor, 88 of Crane, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2009 at her home in Crane.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Mary Street Church of Christ with Minister Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Mrs. Taylor was born on January 25, 1921 in Hill County, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Crane, moving there in 1945. She was a retired cook for the Crane Hospital; and a member of the Mary Street Church of Christ. On August 7, 1976 she married Thurston Taylor in Crane. She was affectionately known and loved to everyone as "Maw". Maw was known for never seeing the bad in people, just the good.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Henry "Emy" Brents; two sons, Jim Brents and Dan Bailey Brents; as well as a daughter, Shirley Mae DeShazo; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Maw is survived by her husband, Thurston Taylor of Crane; three children, Tex Brents of Seagraves, TX, Judy Streety and her husband Jimmy of Roby, and Reta Woodard and her husband Jackie, Jr. of Gardendale, TX; 18 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
