Inez Dossett, 100, of Odessa, and formerly of Crane, slipped peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, in Odessa.
Inez was born on October 8, 1915, in Goldthwaite, Texas to Joel and Zora Alvis Sellers. She graduated from Big Spring High School in 1931, and from Sul Ross with a BS and Masters Degree on May 31, 1935.
Inez was an educator, teaching 2nd grade for 50 years. During her teaching career she taught in Garden City, Crane, then moved to Iraan to teach after she married Charles Dossett on December 26, 1941, then finally moved back to Crane where she stayed until her retirement.
She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma, and the Beta Sigma Phi. Inez was a 60-year member of the Daughters of the Republic Revolution.
Inez was good Christian and was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Crane. She was the true definition a proper lady.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Charles who passed away on September 25, 1991.
As per her request, her services were held privately.
Arrangements were under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
