Heriberto âBetoâ Ortiz, 83, of Crane, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014, at his home in Crane.
Rosary will be said at 7pm on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in Crane. Mass will be held at 10am on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at the Funeral Home Chapel in Crane. Burial will follow in the Tamarisk in Grandfalls. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Beto was born on February 24, 1931, in Mexico. He was a retired welder for National Foundry. He had lived in Crane since January of 1971. Beto was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Alberto Ortiz and his wife Susie of Round Rock, and Roy Lee Ortiz and his wife Buffie of Manhattan, KS; two daughters Maria Lopez of Austin, and Norma Quezada and her husband Roberto of Crane; two brothers, Joaquin Ortiz of Presidio and Faustino Ortiz of Pecos; one sister, Ermelinda Ramirez of Marble Falls; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
